Event Details:

Please join fellow BAWSC participants for a spring hike to get our legs and lungs into shape to hit the water in 2014.

We will hike the McCorkle Trail in Sunol Regional Park which after recent rains should be nice and green with wild flowers starting to sprout.  This is a moderate 3 mile hike that has one section near the end of the trail that is pretty steep to reach the top but offers great views of the valley and has a really nice tree lined single track steep trail back to base camp.   For those who don't want to climb the steep part there is a bail out point in the trail before it gets real steep that takes you back down to the parking lot without having to go up/down the steep part.   My family and some friends did this entire trail on New Years Day and while there was some grumbling reaching the top everyone hiked the full trail skipping the bail-out point so I'm confident most of the BAWSC participants can also do it.

There is no BAWSC event fee for this event.   However the park does charge $5 for each car entering the park and there is a surcharge for $2 charge for each dog.   Please try and car-pool to this event using the club message board to arrange car-pools.

Please pack drinks and a lunch which we will either eat on the trail or back in the base camp picnic grounds depending how fast we hike.   After the hike for those who are interested we may want to head over to Livermore Valley Winery's for some tasting.
