  Join us in Elk Grove, Ca. on the weekend of Aug 27 for the 2026, (24th annual) California Pro Am Slalom Ski, Trick & Jump Tournament.  Bringing most of the World's best Pro Skiers, Trickers and Jumpers including Seniors and under 21 Juniors from around the globe to the largest Pro water ski event in the Western U.S., at the pristine waters of Short Line Ski Lake, located one mile East of Highway 99, in Elk Grove, Calif.

  
  

  Bring your family & friends (FREE!) to watch, mingle and be inspired by the sport’s top athletes like Nate Smith, Regina Jaques, Will Asher, Whitney McClintock (Rini), Terry Winter, Thomas DeGasperi, Allie Nicholson, Corey Vaughn, Charlie Ross, Erika Lang, Alexia Abelson, Freddie Winter and many other renowned pro skiers as they ski head-to-head for >$30,000 in cash awards and world records.
  
  

  SCHEDULE of EVENTS  (competition begins at 8:00 AM daily)
  Thursday 8/27 - Under 21 Juniors

  Friday 8/28 - Action begins with the Senior Men's and Women's rounds. Followed by the Pro Men's & Women's preliminary competition.

  Saturday 8/29 -  Pro Men & Women Skier, Trick & Jump competition.

  Sunday 8/30 - Is kicked off at 8:00 AM with the the exciting Pro Women's & Men's head-to-head Slalom, Trick & Jump finals.  

  
  

  Attendance and parking is free for all spectators.  No dogs or animals please! 

  Share the excitement with many of your fellow BAWSC members who plan to attend the finals on Sunday Aug 30 beginning at 8:00  AM.  Wear your BAWSC logo clothing.

  Bring your lawn chairs, hats, cameras, autograph pens, sun lotion, food/picnic baskets, drinks and coolers.   (food is available for purchase on site)

  Event Overview:  Whether you ski or wakeboard, join us on FRIDAY, 9/11/26 on the Delta waterways, meeting at 9:30 AM  at Discovery Bay Marina.

  Event Arrival Time:  Meet and check-in at 9:30 AM with your assigned boat.

  Boat Departure time:  Boats will leave promptly at 10:00 AM or earlier if the boat is ready with it's crew.  If you arrive later than that, you may be left behind.  Call if you are running late:  707-322-1157

  Event Lunch Plans:  We suggest you bring your own lunch since we will not return to the marinas for lunch (Union Point Restaurant no longer exists ).  If we are skiing nearby we may raft the boats together for lunch near where the Golden Gate Ski Club island used to be.
  Lunch is scheduled from about 12:30 - 1:30 P.M.

  Note:  No alcoholic beverages allowed during the BAWSC day of skiing or wakeboarding.  Please, no pets permitted.

  Water sport weather is still great in the second half of September.
  Time to get out of the Bay Area for a relaxing weekend at Casa Copperopolis!
  All are welcome to arrive Friday,  Sept. 18 or early Saturday, Sept. 19. 
  
  On Friday we plan to ski in the afternoon and relax that evening playing Bocce Ball with dinner and star gazing to finish off the day.  Get ready to spend a full day on Saturday on Lake Don Pedro. To round out this fun-filled weekend, we can do some hiking through the woods or ski on Sunday morning. If you have a paddle boards or kayaks, feel free to bring them. 

  * Boating costs will be paid directly to the boat owners *
  
  Sleeping arrangements:  There are three bedrooms reserved for couples and are on a  first come, first serve basis.  Otherwise there is lots of floor and deck space: 3.2 acres for RV,s or tents. 

  * Please bring your sleeping bags *

  Meals: Breakfast, lunches and meat for BBQ will be provided by the event fee.
  BYOB. 

  This event requests all participants to be vaccinated for Covid 19 due to being in close quarters when in the house. An Antigen Rapid test is highly recommended with in 24 hours of arriving at the event.

   Note:
  Copperopolis is 43 miles east of Stockton off Highway 4 towards Angels Camp. There are three nearby lakes:  Lake Tulloch - 5 minutes away,  Lake Don Pedro and New Melones - 25 minutes away.

  Hello BAWSC Members:
  

   

  We are ready to start the election process for our 2027 BAWSC Officers.  The elections will take place during the month of October. 

  
  

  We are seeking people who are interested in the 4 Officer positions of the club which are voted on by our membership.  This is a great opportunity for you to get involved in the club next year and help guide the club as we enter our 33th year.  We are always looking for new ideas in how we can make the club more fun for everyone involved.  If you are interested in seeing the club continue as strongly in 2026, please consider volunteering to be an officer or board member in 2026.  Contributing back to the club either by participating as an officer, board member, or chair person, can be a very rewarding experience and will allow you to add new job competencies.
  

   

  Please contact me (Larry Ligon at larry_ligon@sbcglobal.net) if you would like your name to be placed on the October ballot for the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, or Secretary.  The deadline for getting your name on the ballot is Friday October TBD.  

   

  If you would like to be considered for a position on the 2025 Board of Directors, please contact me with this information as well so we can gauge how much interest there is from the current membership for board positions.  The 2027 Board of Directors will be selected by the 2026 elected officers in November.

  
  

  Please note that the board now meets by teleconference so it doesn't matter where you live to become an officer or board member of the club.  It requires a time commitment of  just 1.5 hours per month for board meetings and you help decide which events and policies the club should adopt going forward.   
  

   

  Feel free to contact any of the existing officers/board members if you have questions about any of the officer positions and what is involved as several of the current board members are past presidents and/or have been board members/officers of the club for well over a decade.

  Officer Duties:
  

   

  The President, or in his absence the Vice-Presidents in their order, or in the absence of a Vice-President, the Treasurer, shall preside at all meetings of the membership and the Board of Directors, and they shall perform the usual duties of the office.

   

  The Vice-President, in their order, shall perform the duties of the President in the absence or inability of the President to discharge the duties of their office, and such other duties as the membership may determine from time to time.  The Vice-President will also be responsible for running the annual election and developing/publishing all board meeting agendas.

   

  The Treasurer shall collect, receive and deposit funds of the BAWSC as directed by the Board of Directors; render periodic financial statements to the Board of Directors and the membership and render such other reports and accounts of the financial condition of the BAWSC as may from time to time be requested by the Board of Directors or the membership and shall perform such other duties as are included in the office of Treasurer.  Treasurer cannot write a check in excess of THREE-HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($350.00) without board authorization. Treasurer will provide summary cash flow statement at each general meeting or when requested by any member.

  Event Overview: 

  Join us for the final club water-sports event of the year Sunday, Oct. 4th. 2026.
  Fall skiing on the Delta is typically the best time of year as the crowds are gone, the weather is nice and typically wind is low.
  Begin Oct on a high note by getting in a few Water-Ski, Wakeboard, Wake-Surf  runs.  
  We already have boats confirmed for the event so get your spot secured by registering quickly and sending in your check or Venmo payment.  Payment instructions are provided once you register.
  As events are filling up quickly this year the event will be open for registration to members first for one week and then open to non-members after 7 days of the event opening for  registration.   If payment is not received within 7 days of you registering you will be moved to the waitlist.

  Please arrive by 9:10 a.m. so we can get boats departing on-time.   
  Boat Departure time
  Boats will leave at 9:30 a.m.  and no later than 9:45.  If you are not on your assigned boat by 9:30 a.m. you risk being left at the dock.
